God’s Grace is enough for me! (My #oneword365 for 2023)

2 Corinthians 12:9but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in[your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.

I don’t like it when circumstances cause me to feel weak. Especially if those circumstances are occurring where others can see (and sometimes comment on) my weaknesses. I feel exposed and want to hide. The one statement that I need to put on repeat in my brain this year is that God’s grace is enough for me in any circumstance or situation. I want to be like the apostle Paul and instead of hiding my weaknesses be open and honest about them. I want to see God’s hand at work making beautiful things out of the dust. My kids know that their Mom isn’t perfect. It is time to lay perfectionist tendencies aside. I need to show them grace, and show myself grace. Maybe in sharing my story about my imperfections, flaws and messes, someone will be encouraged. God doesn’t want us to hide our brokenness. He pursues us. I want my home to be full of love, kindness and grace. I want to remember that God’s kindness leads us to repentance. On the days, that I am not feeling gracious or kind may I remember to run to my Heavenly Father the giver of all good things. His grace is enough for me and my family. What is your #OneWord365 for 2023? If you don’t have a word for the year, do you have any New Years traditions? I would love to read about them in the comments.
