There is Hope Ahead

           When I read the word ahead, I thought of a book that greatly encouraged me on my journey of healing  Hope Ahead by Barb Mulvey and Cris Paulson. This book reminded that in the middle of shattered promises, in the midst of broken dreams that there is hope ahead. I am so thankful that my hope does not have to be in temporal things. "My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness." I am grateful that I have this hope that is an anchor for my soul. Our God does not change. His compassion never fail. Nothing comes as a surprise to God. He is with us each step of the way. Because of God\"s love for each of us there is truly hope ahead.

    Yes! We have nothing to fear because we don't have to put our faith in man.

      Yes, God is faithful. I love songs about his faithfulness. They are such an encouragement in hard seasons.

    One of my favorite hymns. I've also been playing On Christ The Solid Rock I Stand pretty much on repeat. All other ground is indeed sinking sand. Have a wonderful weekend!

      Yes, I love how timeless hymns are. These songs are hundreds of years old and are so full of truth and encouragment.

I know deep in my soul grief is a necessary part of healing, but it was one that I would much rather skip if I’m being totally honest. I have people counting on me. Day 11 Try New Things Once

              I like predictably. I like routines. I do not have much of an adventurous spirit. I laugh that my girls are much more open to trying new things than I am. Their motto is to try things once. I have ridden roller coasters at theme parks because my children have wanted to go on them. I have researched and then participated in activities that my kids have wanted to try. My eldest daughter and I have even discovered we both enjoy sushi because she had always wanted to try it. I am thankful that my children are adventurous and they encourage me to be a more adventurous person

Lewis. I was reading Mere Christianity about a year ago, and these words leaped off the page and made an imprint on my mind and heart.  As some of you may know, I am a single mom. My children's father has parenting time during school vacations. On these vacations he takes them to theme parks, lets them stay up as late as they want and basically is a very fun Dad. I sometimes wish that I could be the fun "theme park parent." I am the parent that needs to enforce bed times, helps them with homework and reminds them to be kind to each other.
